Art has always played a major role in the artist’s life.

When she cannot find the right words, what rarely happens, she expresses her emotions through staging in any kind of form. Her creativity has led to stage performances at a young age and an education in fashion design.

It was a shaping moment when the artist repeatedly lost her voice for weeks due to stress and emotional strains. When the doctors ordered her to stay quiet, the emotional expressions were put onto the canvas. It was during this moment that the art represented itself as the chosen form of expression.

The first series is unreleased. In the second series FEMME, she deals with the phenomenon of femininity as well as the discussion about sexualization of the female body.

The third and current series is called GNOM and reflects the emotions of our environment. The signature on the painting captures the emotional state of the artist at the beginning of the creative process. KO – represents Katharina Ofner ́s initials and symbolize an emotional knock out, while OK indicates a strong positive mindset and is at the same time a phrase “one uses on a daily basis”. All paintings with KO convey emotions which can be negatively interpreted, but they immediately provide a realm for interpretation and a bright spot in our life. Paintings marked with OK reflect the joy of being in a positive state of mind and are often interpreted as gratefulness.
